High-Efficiency Iron Ore Pellets for DRI, BF & EAF Steel Production

Samanar supplies high-grade iron ore pellets with high Fe content, strong metallization, and low impurities — engineered for efficient performance in DRI, BF, and EAF plants.

Pelletizing

About Product

Iron ore pelletizing is a specialized industrial process in which fine iron ore particles (concentrate) are agglomerated into spherical pellets ranging from 6–16 mm. These pellets are used as a premium feedstock in global steel production due to their high iron content, uniform size distribution, fast reduction behavior, and low impurity levels.

Samanar’s iron ore pellets are produced under strict quality control systems that ensure excellent mechanical strength, superior metallurgical properties, and optimal performance in all major steelmaking technologies. Our pellets serve some of the world’s largest steel mills, DRI operators, and integrated BF/BOF plants.

With a strong supply chain, multi-origin sourcing, flexible shipping options, and long-term export reliability, we deliver pelletized iron ore designed to meet industry-specific requirements across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and Africa.

What is Iron Ore Pelletizing?

Pelletizing is the transformation of iron ore fines into high-strength spherical pellets through the following steps:

  1. Beneficiation & Concentrate Production

    • Upgrading ore to high Fe (64–69% Fe)

    • Reducing silica, alumina, phosphorus, and sulfur

  2. Mixing & Conditioning

    • Blending with binders (like bentonite) & flux materials

  3. Green Pellet Formation

    • Rotating discs or drums produce uniformly shaped wet pellets

  4. Induration (Thermal Hardening)

    • Pellets heated up to ~1,300°C in a pelletizing furnace

    • Achieves required compressive strength

  5. Sizing, Cooling & Shipping

    • Stable pellets ready for DRI or BF processes

Final pellets offer high durability, resistance to breakdown, superior reducibility, and optimal furnace efficiency.
